The old city

Wolf blinked wondering what he even meant. "Like... Uh... where you'd like our relationship to go..." He answered scratching his head as her confusion caught on him. "Do you want to be with me a long time? What are you ok with doing... maybe this is a bad time for questions..." Wolf rubbed a hand on her shoulder, There just wasnt an easy way to ask if someone actually wanted to date for a long time... also there wasnt any easy way to ask if someone ever wanted to do something that you werent close to doing yet... Then again... Ion was raised alone... maybe she didnt even know.. "You've heard of the birds and the bees right?" Wolf couldnt see some random stranger telling her about reproduction, so she wouldnt really have any way he could think of too know. When someone did stop in a town people didnt just spend there time talking about it. She could have seen a baby and just didnt know why the person had it. But she seemed liek a smart girl. She could of had Cri tell her or something. Plus she must have felt the Feeling and been curous what it was.

"Uh, yeah?" she said. Wow. What is he talking about? Birds and bees, they were animals, creatures in the wild, who wouldn't know about them. What else would he be talking about... "Oh... Um, yeah, Cri's, uh, filled me in. I, uh, yeah..." Ion figetted, suddenly very uncomfortable. Was that what he had been trying to get at this whole time? They had known each other for less than a week, and had only been really getting along for a couple of days. Cri had said something about most guys of the past had been pigs after only one thing, was Wolf that type. She didn't really believe so, but maybe that was what her shadeling had been talking about, not just her unwillingness to converse.

Wolf nodded not going to push any further. He just wasnt any good at her question game. He just wanted to know what she was looking for. But no avail. Wolf picked up a leaf as it landed in his lap and looked it over carefully as Ion fidgeted. Well good job Wolf... Now she thinks your some pervert... If i was looking for just a good time, Im a shade. Id take it. Wolf felt a shutter of panic over the thought and gripped his side over the scary thought. Dont think like that! Thats not me! Wolf shuttered tryign to push it away. "Sorry." He answered looking down as his clenched hand opened bits of crushed leaf falling out like flakes of snow.

Forcing a smile, Ion looked up. "It's Ok. I, uh, am too... I've just never been in this situation before. I like you, and I'm hoping this goes farther than just the 'teen romance', but I'm not ready for that yet." She ran a hand through her hair before reaching for his hand.

Wolf smiled biting his lip. "Well thats ok..." After the plastic factories stopped running Wolf didnt think that worked into anything but reproduction now... He had never asked anyone about it. Since everyone kept mainly to themselves, But birthcontrol just wasnt heard of. Wolf had never had a reason to think about it, But now that he did he wasnt sure what to do. Probably would be years before she would want too anyways. "So what does Cri think anyways?" Ion had let up that Cri did talk to her about stuff liek that, and since the shadeling did, he must have been on the topic list.

Ion blinked and bit her lip. Really, Cri hadn't said too much. She had been trying not to be too much into her personal life. Now she could feel Cri moving to slip out. Ion was honestly surprised the shadeling hadn't come out sooner. Cri stretched and moved a couple of feet before plopping down onto the grass, looking away from them. "Well, she's trying to not say a lot. I think she's a bit worried I'm going to think it's all about the reproduction for her, you know? I'm just she's there to give me advice when I need it."

Wolf cocked his eyebrow in confusion. "All about the reproduction for her?" He had no idea what Ion meant by it. "A smart girl like you? what do you need advice on? you seemed to have learned 'no' pretty well on your own." Wolf smiled playing around with another leaf.

"I mean, like we're the only way they can multiply now that the scientists are gone," she said, frowning. Hadn't his shadeling taught him that? Guess not.. she thought. Rolling her eyes Ion reached over and punched him playfully in the arm.

Wolf blinked still not getting it. "I thought full shades made shadelings... We would too? would here be a human kid?" Wolf was panicing now a little concerned. "Wait? she talks about us doing that?" wolf flinched with the playful punch as his arm pushed against his side digging into the bruise. Wolf's shade never talked. Well sometimes. but not really. It was just... there. The creature held him back from other people and he despised it for that.

"Well, I, uh, usually. But at least in my position... She, uh, I don't need to be I guess." She shook her head to clear her thoughts. Cri had said something about her not needing to change any more, but she didn't quite understand it. "So..." Ion fought to find something else to say but couldn't. This wasn't a subject she appreciated. Her relationship with her shadeling was something that she liked to discuss.

Wolf once again blinked not getting it. "Sorry bad question." He covered now worrying or mutant pre-shaded children. He squeezed her hand as the chilling idea came over him. "Well what do you want to do for the rest of the day?" He asked helping he changed the subject.

For a moment Ion wanted to scream. It was like talking was a chore, a very long, boring, nonproductive chore that cause more pain than it helped. She breathed deeply before answering. "I don't know," she said, licking her slightly dry lips.

Wolf nodded staring at the ground. After a moment he reached down to her legs and pulled them over his lap grabbing between her knees and Her took her hand again. "Whats your favorite flower?" He asked trying to start again on a better topic.

Ion raised an eyebrow as Wolf pulled her over his lap. Once she was in a seemingly satisified position she thought about his question. "Probably a water lily," she said. "Apples or oranges?"

Wolf smiled feeling himself calm down. Cuddling and questions worked apparently. This could work. "Apples." He rubbed her leg wrapping the other hand around her back. "Pie or cake?" He asked looking up and figuring it too be about 12 at this point. IT was overcast and the air was slightly chilly.

Ion laughed and scooted closer. "I do believe you've asked me this question once already. But cake," she said. "Rain or sunshine?"

Wolf smiled and shrugged. "Must'a forgotten... Rain." He answered already remembering how much he loved the soft pitter patter of rain. "Company or alone?" He asked looking over to her shade for a moment then back to her as she moved closer. Something about her just made him calm, Gave him a feeling of mellow. Wolf rubbed her back massaging out the muscles in her back, working from her neck down.

"Well, I haven't had enough 'alone time' to even know what that feels like, so I would have to go with company," she said, her head tilting to the side a little as she thought.

Wolf suddenly felt confused as she answered. "I meant more like being alone then like 'couple' alone time." He answered as he thought about it again. So she would rather be with friends then cuddle? Wolf just went with the fact he didn't understand and left it alone. Some people just werent into that. "a strong manly guy, or a passionate soft one?" He asked.

"Oh, guess I misunderstood the question," Ion blinked. "Well, both. Spineless and unwilling to just say something that's bothering him is not alright. As you can tell, I'm pretty tough, and he's gotta keep up. But it's great that you know how to cook and stuff, cause otherwise we'd be eating plain squirrel a la barby," she said, smiling a little.

Wolf smiled squeezing her leg. "Thank god.." He gave her a playful kiss before sitting up a little taller stretching. "Whats the best thing you've done with me?" He asked deciding it would be the last question he'd ask for now.

What an odd way to put that question... At least she knew what exactly he was expecting. "Hm, well, they day you brought me up to see the waterfall was fun," she said, pulling herself up to give him a peck. "And the trip to town was interesting."

Wolf nodded seeing His shadeling appear up ahead. "Little turd..." He grumbled watching it take its time to walk up to him its eyes staring up at his face without emotion. Wolf wanted to say something... but nothing came to mind...

Ion sighed and leaned back, looking over her shoulder at the shadeling. It didn't seem to have any emotion like Cri did. She was always talking to her through looks and little movement in her body that was so... human. This one, however, had none of that. Curious, she reached out to touch it, wondering if it responded like Cri did at all.

Wolf watched his shadeling look a up her with an air of cautiousness before moving closer and looking over her hand. It moved closer and sa iself beside her looking over to cri.
