The old city

Wolf slowly exhaled thinking. "Well its out of gas... And Unless no one took gas from the stations... which they would have... We wont have any..." He drummed his fingers on her leg thinking. "I can fix a car but i cant rebuild a new fueled engine. We could get an electric vehicle and put my solar panel too it. We wouldn't be able to go too far per day but with the efficiency of them... It could recharge during the day as we drive, and during the days we dont."

"Yeah, and I mean at night we could search around for anyone one living in the area," Ion said, nodding. She was surprised at how much he seemed into it. Well, not neccesarily into leaving, he had a relunctancing about him although he obviously was trying to hide it. She sighed, wondering if she was making Wolf leave the village. "You know, if you don't want to go..." she muttered quietly.

wolf gave ion a quick smile. "i want to go." he said reassuring. Wolf leaned on the bark of the tree resting his head. "we will ask lilith when we get back." he said wondering about trip. he had never been away from his village.

Ion nodded, removing herself from his lap so that she could lay down on the ground beside him. The idea of a nap sound even better at the moment, and with some of her buzzing thoughts put to ease, she felt like she could actually sleep. For a moment she stared up at the sky going through all the things they would need to bring, then her eyelids fluttered shut.

Wolf watched her silently looking up to the cloudy sky. The city was memorized, the village... had been memorized. It would be a whole new thing. Halloween was so close, The villagers just needed to rebuild there instruments and bake some cakes and pies. All there food was unharmed same with extra supply's they hadn't planned on using that year. They could just build a concrete oven next to the fireplace in there underground hut. Wolf looked down running his eyes along the sleeping girl. He was sincerely glad she told him her feelings...

Talking hadn't worked nearly as well as she had hoped. The dream was back, again, and this time she couldn't take it. Pushing aside the fear that she felt, Ion willed this smaller version of herself to walk amongst the debris, towards the head of black hair. Her stomach flipped and she immediately regretted the decision, for on the head was simply that, a head. It's body lay a few feet away, burning as if a torch. She stood there, shaking, fighting the urge to fun. Finally she gained control of her foot and used it to flip the head over so that she could see his face. There he was, the doctor from the book. Something about rang a small bell in the back of her mind. I know this guy. Suddenly something cold brushed against her leg. She looked down to see a pair of fire-red eyes looking back at her. Her legs bent so that she could pet the shadeling, then everything went black.

Wolf sat for maybe an hour before he reopened his eyes having not slept at all. It was dark outside and the Air was particularly chilly. He had his arms wrapped around the sleeping Ion. He watched the forest calmly holding Ion softly keeping her warm.

When Ion opened her eyes it was dark. For a moment she just lied there, running through the newest break through. A deep pain in the back of her skull made her lite-headed and nauscious. She blinked a couple of times, making sure that her face showed no signs of her pain. Slowly she sat up and smiled over at Wolf. "Hey."

lilith was still walking threw the city. the hotel was right infront of her and she pushed the doors open. the warm air blew into her face sending shivers down her spine. "hello" she called out hopeing that someone was there.

Wolf looked down as Ion finally woke. "Hey, You sleep well?" He asked while still listening as the crickets began there soft melody out in the forests. wolf didnt know how long he had watched her sleep, but it was likely 8 now. The stars were up the moon was out. "So ready to do anything yet? Or do you wanna head back now?" He asked rubbing her gently with his hand.

"Doesn't matter to me. What would we do?" For some reason being that close right now and not feeling so hot was making her skin prick. She slowly got up and stretched, trying not to sway or vomit.

Wolf Blinked nodding. "Just want to go to bed?" He asked rubbing her forehead forehead for a fever. "Not feeling so well?"

"Nah, I'm good," she lied, then shook her head. "I've just got a headache, nothing serious." Ion leaned back on the tree and blinked a couple of times. "Alright, let's go." She sucked in a breath and forced herself forward. At first she stumbled, but within a couple of steps she had managed to steady herself and walk normally.

Wolf walked next to her his side stinging but his worry for her higher. "Just a headache huh?" He asked his shoes digging into the moist moss. She obviously wasnt feeling good. Why didnt she just tell him? "Ion... We promised to not keep things from each other right?"

"Right. How's your side feeling?" she asked. She honestly wasn't sure what the pain was about; it almost felt like a concusion. Instead of worrying him right now Ion had decided to wait until she had time to think, then she would talk to him about it.

Wolf shrugged watching Ions walking cautiously. "Im ok." He looked at the slope below them and made sure to be careful on his footing. "Walk slowly." He advised not wanting to roll down the hill again.

Ion nodded, half skidding and half walking down it. Once at the bottom she let out a breath and glanced over. "Do you need to sit?" she asked, searching out of the corner of her eye for Cri just in case.

wolf shook his head turning down her offer. " thats alright but if you need to by all means go right ahead." he said breathing alittle. they were pretty close to be getting back so wolf was pretty sure he could make it.

"Nope, just making sure you were alright." Ion forced a quick smile and pushed forward, not wanting to stop too long in case she would get stuck and have no choice but to sit down. As soon as they made it back she would make a beeline for the stream. Maybe a dip in the cold water would help.

Wolf smiled taking her hand. "Thats ok im good." When they reached the bottom the air had gotten significantly colder. "Going to be cold tonight. Im going to have to make us a hut tomorrow.." Having another house would be good. Something about a place to stay was comforting... Suddenly the idea faded. He forgot it would be temporary. It would be weird living without a home.

Ion bit her lip and slowly back towards the stream. "I'm going to go take a dip. Be back in a bit." She turned on her heels and half ran until she reached the bank. Without stopping she dove into the icy water, straight to the bottom. It took a minute but the cold worked her senses numb so that she could actually think. The whole couple drama was working on her, and she couldn' help but wonder if she had really made the right choice. Maybe she should have just denied the invite and gone on her own. Ion sighed, then froze. She inhaled but didn't choke on water. "Whoa." The word came out in a bubble.

Wolf walked back to the bed and undressed sliding under the freezing blankets. "At least they will be warm when she gets back." Wolf would need to get a welder and hook it up at the hotel, find an electric vehicle and fix it up. He had 3 days till Halloween probably. With a silent nod he played it over in his head.

How long she was under Ion had no idea, all she knew was she could think there without any interuptions or anyone to make her feel guilty. When her head finally broke the surface the air felt foreign. It took all of her will power to not dive back into the water but instead force herself up onto dry land and made her way back to camp.

Wolf had warmed the blankets up and gotten a snack of the food they cooked before leaving. He was watching the stars at this point, the clouds moving into and out of his way. Turning his head he saw Ion coming back. "Feeling better?"

Ion shrugged and motioned the excess moisture out of her clothes and hair. She sat down on the blankets and looked around. "Where's Lilith?" she asked herself more than Wolf.
