The old city

Ion turned so that they were facing each other. "We could." She lifted her head up, supporting her torso with her elbow so that she could kiss him better. After a moment she dropped back down and lied her head against his chest and closed her eyes. "Night," she whispered.

Wolf smiled as she kissed and layed her head on his chest. "Night..." He smiled one of his arms around her as he pulled the covers up and began to drift to sleep happily.

When wolf was finally asleep The trunk of the car opened Azriel crawling out of the car having finally deciding to lift the clothing off herself. Slowly the girl snuck off silently wondering where to go now.

The dream came again that night. Everything was the same, the fiery debrise, the men in white-coats who just left her, Cri bounding up. There was just one small detail that she hadn't noticed before. To her right, only feet away from where she had woken up, a head poked out from underneath a piece of wall. The man had jet black hair.

Ion's eyes flew open. It took her a moment to remember why she was covered in blankets but staring into the forest. Slowly she turned her head. Through the course of the night she had managed to roll to her otherside. Wolf was in same position with his arm still wrapped around her. She looked up at the sky. There were a few gaps in the grey clouds allowing some of the black sky to show. According to the few stars she could see the sun would be rising soon.

Strips of brown dried meat were fling throw the air. One floated down and rested nicely on wolfs palm. The touch and feel of it burst threw his sences, he had never seen anything like this before. Wolf could not wait any longer. He lifted the jerky to his mouth and bit down. Flavors and tastes filled his mouth makeing a wonderful sensation.

Ion carefully slunk out of Wolf's warm grasp and onto the cool ground. After waiting a minute to make sure she hadn't woken him she walked silently over to the vehicle to get her clothes and change. Once that was accomplished she went to throw her PJs back when she noticed the upturned clothes. Huh. Wonder if Lilith was looking through them. Making a mental note to ask her about it later, Ion grabbed her backpack and headed back across the camp to the stream. She sat down and put her feet in the stream, sighing with content at the feeling of cold water against her skin. For a moment she just stared at her backpack, but eventually dug out the book. The man's piercing eyes stared up at her almost as if he could really see. Ion ran her hand through jaggedly through her hair, trying to force herself to open it. Come on, just do it. She just sat there. Five minutes later she still hadn't moved. Frustrated she threw the book back into her bag and looked down at the stream. The rain had gotten rid of some of the dirt splotches on her face, but there was still a lot caked on. Standing up, she stripped off her t-shirt and jeans and dived into the water. Cri, who must have snuck in before she had woken up, swam circles around her.

Wolfs dream was interrupted as a giant turkey burst through his mind and waking up he noticed his bed was half empty. "Im not doing this again." he told himself refusing to get up.

After spending a while under water, Ion broke the surface and climbed onto the bank. As she manipulated the water out of her clothes and slipped back on her jeans she wondered if they had gotten any swimsuits. She let out a breath, a breeze intensifying the cold of the water. When she had gotten back to their little bed on the ground she bent down and poked Wolf. "Hey, get up. I've got some ideas for the day, so you can continue sleeping later."

Wolf had just gotten back to sleep when he was suddenly poked. "ughh..." He grumbled rubbing his eyes and sitting up. "Oh?" He asked waiting for the details. He honestly wanted to put the blanket back over his head, but she wasnt the type he wanted to have to wait.

"Yeah, and it's gonna be a bit of work, so it's time for you to get up. I'll go get some more food and if you're not out of bed when I get back I'm going to dunk you in ice water." Ion smiled and leaned down to give him a quick kiss before heading off towards the storage shed.

Wolf blinked and sighed. "Thanks.." he slowly stood up picking his pile of discared clothes and brought them over to the veichal throwing them in the passanger seat. Headung back to the trunk and opening it he grabbed out a pear of black skateing shoes with crimsin shoe laces. The got a pair of cargo black pants with a chain goingfrom the side to the pocket. Wolf then got a black tshirt with a cracked skull on the front.

It took her ten minutes to travel to and from the shed, and when she returned a small chicken, vegetables, nuts, and a couple cans of milk. Ion placed them on the ground and walked over to the vehicle. "Looking snazzy," she smiled. Looking into the back, she could just seen the metal of the new cooking instruments sticking out of the heap. Ion hopped in and made her way over to wear they sat. After collecting them up, she pulled back and set her feet on the ground. "Looks like you get to use your new toys this morning."

Wolf smiled amazed with her control. "Who says im cooking?" He asked smiling cockily as he came behind her a hand on each hip. "Im thinking We should teach you some cooking before we get working." He rhymed taking some of the pans from him as he looked up towards the edge of the rising dawn. "Sure is a nice morning." He noticed breathing in the brisk morning air. Already it felt like a good day.

Smiling, Ion nodded and leaned back against him. "If you want edible food I suggest you don't let me near it." She sighed and shut the back door before turning to look at Wolf. "Well we better get going. The task shouldn't take long, and then we get to relax and enjoy it." She couldn't wait to get it up; he was going to be so surprised.

Wolf blinked wondering what the surprise was. "Well lets get it up then eat alright? A handful of nuts will do me till lunch." He said already anxious. Wolf was a major sucker for surprises. He just couldnt wait. He still felt a little weak from the interrupted sleep, but he was used to the work.

Ion shook her head firmly. She still wasn't sure how she was going to ask him to do this. "No, you're going to need plenty of energy. I, uh - the surprise requires a bit of-," Ion stopped, still not sure how to phrase it. "I was wondering if there was anyway you would be to let your shadeling in. It would be for less then a minute, only to sink a patch of ground." She bit her lip, hoping she hadn't just tread too heavily on fragile ground.

Wolf made a silent O of understanding. Ah... Well in that cause its still better not to eat. Otherwise i will get a cramp. Digesting takes energy, That would actually tire him down. "Last time i saw it was next to our bed... Could you get the shade pills?" He asked hoping it still wasnt too soon to use it. Wolf went back to there bed and threw down the pots grabbing up his still ticked looking shadeling. "Ready turd?" He asked commenting on its color.

Flinching a bit, she nodded and went to get his backpack. Even though this would be something enjoyable, it hurt her slightly to have to ask him to use the shadeling. Of course, it only bothered her because everytime he allowed it to blend into him it tried to take him over. Quickly she found the pills and walked over to the make-shift bed. "Here," she said, handing him the pills with one hand while running the other through her hair.

Wolf took the pills carefully and threw them into his mouth swallowed them and stood up. "So where do you want the hole?" He asked before the shadeling looked up at him and seemed to smile before fusing into him. The feeling reminded him of rocks being ground against his skin, almost like if you fell hard on cement. only they didn't stop till his shadeling got comfortable. Wolf gave a shutter flexing his muscles to make sure things were ok. "Ok im ready."

Swallowing to keep from flinching again, Ion moved to a spot where the ground was hard, compacted dirt. "Here. Make it a little deep, with a ledge you could sit on." Not wanting to watch, she looked around for her own shadeling. She hated the fact that he couldn't every other Shade despised having their shadeling join them. Of course, it wasn't like she wanted Cri in her all the time, but she didn't mind it. Why was she so different? "Cri, would you get over here please?"

Wolf moved his hands down and the ground sunk leaving the edge liek she wanted. "This good?" He asked wondering what was next. Wolf caused a rock to lift off the ground and watched it shift from the orginal shape to a star then to a heart. Wolf concentrated as it turned red then put it down next to Ion.

Smiling slightly, Ion ran her finger over it. "Just turn the dirt to solid rock and get the shadeling out of you. From there I just have to do a couple of things." She was actually surprised he hadn't guessed it yet. Of course, even though he's had the chance to watch movies and such, he might not be familiar with it. If she hadn't seen a home renovation magizine she wouldn't even known what it was.

Wolf lifted his hands and the changed ground turned to a brilliant azure marble. 'Hope this will due.' He said as his shadeling dropped out leaving him slightly fatigued. At least it hadnt been a fight this time. "So what are we making?" He asked feeling like he should know... but he was clueless.

Ion watched, waiting until the shadeling dropped out before actually looking at him. "Ever heard of a jacuzzi?" she asked, a grin spreading across her face. Ion took a deep breath and shifted her wait as she directed water from the stream into the tub. Slowly curling her fingers, she focussed on heating the water. When it was done she rolled her shoulders. "We have swimsuit, right?"

Wolf nodded thinking that they should prob have a new way to heat it. Wolfs shadeling entered him once more. Wolf made a large pot with four legs extending from it so there would be room under neath for a fire. Next wolf raised a big bolder from the ground and set it next to the jacuzzi. Wolf swiveled his hands as the bolder began to lighten and the rock changed itself over to limestone. When wolf was finished the shadeling dropped out.

Ion bit her lip and waited once again for Wolf to finish. "It wasn't that big of a deal, I didn't have a problem with keeping it heated," she said quietly. She really didn't like him using his powers so much. Although, it was quite impressive how well he could use them. To be able to change minerals like that was incredible. Blinking, she turned back to the vehicle to go through the clothes.
